Resting Hand Splint Treatment Options
Resting hand splints are typically made from molded thermoplastic and feature Velcro fastening straps for a secure fit. They are custom-made to ensure optimal support and comfort. These splints are designed to keep your hand and wrist in the best position while resting, helping to reduce swelling and alleviate pain.
How To Use A Resting Hand Splint
- Undo the Straps: Undo all of the velcro straps.
- Position Your Hand: Place your hand into the splint, ensuring it contacts the palm and has no space between your wrist and the splint. If there's a thumb section, ensure your thumb is also in contact with the material.
- Secure the Straps: Fasten the straps, starting with the one nearest your elbow. Ensure they are snug but not too tight.
