Accredited by the National Committee on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education
It is CPO’s mission to educate and train residents in becoming premier providers of prosthetic and orthotic services by building an exceptional clinical knowledge foundation, developing sound business & technical skills; and fostering superior patient outcome that restore mobility and quality of life.
We view your residency as an extension of your formal education, rather than an entry level position. We are training for the future; both your career as a professional and your association with CPO. The standards we set for acceptance to our program, and the competency testing throughout will help us identify our leaders of tomorrow. It is a long-term commitment and has the potential to turn into a full-time position with CPO for the right candidate as we continue to grow.
Our organization is comprised of energetic and creative team players. What’s unique about our work environment is our commitment to innovation, and our drive to be the leader in the orthotic and prosthetic industry. The healthcare industry of the 21st Century is one that is constantly changing, and changing fast. CPO’s organization is ready to adapt when change occurs. CPO strives to create an environment where their team can continue the journey toward being the best in the industry.
We believe that everyone who works at CPO has an impact on patient care, regardless of their job description. CPO provides competitive pay and benefits as well as a comfortable work environment. Our employees are motivated by our commitment to provide quality patient care to our communities. If you are committed to excellence and understand the importance of compassionate care, we invite you to consider joining our team.
We hire graduate students from accredited Orthotic/Prosthetic Masters programs. Patient care services are normally provided Monday through Friday with additional evening and weekend on call coverage. Based on geography, we have 3 residency sites with varying affiliated clinics and primary Mentors. These locations are as follows: Peoria, IL with affiliate locations: Bloomington, Decatur, Springfield, and Peru. Highlands, IN with affiliate locations: Brookfield, St. John, Peterson and Western. Davenport, IA with affiliate locations: Rock Island and Moline.
At any of the residency sites the resident will also participate and provide care in the hospital setting, wound clinics, and nursing homes. The resident will also be expected to participate in the on-call rotation after normal business hours under the supervision of a certified clinician.
